I also love The False Prince, which again isn't high fantasy at all. I also love historical fiction by Karen Cushman, especially the medieval ones, but also The Ballad of Lucy Whipple, which takes place in California during the Gold Rush. <br /><br />Odd that this book starts out slow. Morris's The Squire's Tale series still does very well, and Spradlin's Templar's Apprentice series has seen some more action than usual this year.
